Gloucestershire now have three county teams that play in the ECB soft and hard ball leagues.
Softball- ECB Super 9s League
The two Super 9s teams provide young people with either learning or physical disabilities a fantastic opportunity to be involved in cricket.
The training and match programme is part of a five year strategy committed to helping young players to develop their cricketing skills to a competitive level .
We believe that the programme provides a safe and controlled environment to develop both sport and social skills.
The training sessions give players the opportunity to progress to either the Senior Super 9s county team or the D40ss hardball team. We are also in the process of forming a social side to the team activities to involve family and friends. For more information or to get involved, please contact Tim Polley
Hardball- ECB Pro40 League
The D40 team offers people with disabilties (either physical or learning) the opportunity to train and play with a hard ball. The partnership between the GCB and Sofab Sports has been vital in setting up a group of players that love their cricket and now play in the National League. The group train at Upton St Leonards CC every Tuesday evening throughout the summer months from 4.30pm till 5.30pm. The group are like a family and welcome people from all walks of life. For more information or to get involved, please contact Chris Rawlins
Both the County teams are sponosored by CM Downton and Nu Pro Ltd. The great opportunities available for people with disabilities would not be available if it wasn’t for the amazing support we receive from them.
