Lydney Cricket Club - 'Why haven't we done this before'
Lydney CC had around 40 members and friends in attendance throughout the weekend and easily achieved their goal of replacing the cladding on the exterior of the building and generally spruce up the verandah and changing room area. As this was their first cricket force weekend the feeling was that they have learnt some lessons for next year but the general consensus of opinion was why haven't we done this before?

Hambrook Cricket Club - Do CricketForce
"The weekend of April 9th and 10th saw the annual Natwest Cricketforce event come to Hambrook CC. Much work was undertaken on and around the ground by a team of willing volunteer players and youth team parents. The main thrust of the weekend was the replacement of outdated kitchen facilities by a small but dedicated team led by project leader Paul Brown whose child plays for the club Under 17's. Apart from some finishing touches all major work was completed over just two days.
Another major item was the refurbishment of an upstairs office which had lain dormant for many years - the walls of which in places were stripped back to the bare brickwork then re-plastered and then redecorated, all work was undertaken by another youth team parent Tony Lugo.
Hambrook CC is very grateful to everyone who turned up to help from the senior and youth sections.
The whole event was planned and coordinated by youth team parent Dudley Jones.
Youth coordinator Martin Dyer stated "the weekend was the most ambitious and successful Cricketforce event at Hambrook to date, the whole club should be proud of what has been achieved". He went on to say "Without the kind help of the volunteers who attended, the cost of the projects undertaken would of been very difficult to manage. Words alone cannot express our gratitude to everyone who helped plus the inspiration and energy provided by Dudley Jones and the other team leaders"
Cirencester Cricket Club -

Carsons & Mangotsfield Cricket Club held there Cricket Force weekend on Fri 18th and Sat 19th March in association with NatWest and the ECB.
The weekends aim involved moving all necessary equipment from our old ground off Sutherland Avenue (Badminton Road playing fields) to the new £2million site at Pomphrey Hill. The new site is shared with Mangotsfield United Football Club, Bromley Heath Football club, Downend Flyers girls football club and Downend Amateur Boxing Club. Part off the challenge was to take down 2 sightscreens, move 2 rollers and an outfield cutter. This was all done along with moving pads, bats stumps, glasses, benches, tables and chairs – everything but the kitchen sink!
We were joined by 2 Gloucestershire CC players, Jack Taylor and Chris Dent who helped out on the day and were impressed by the new surroundings. Everyone at the club is looking forward to the new season and would like to thank Glos CCC and NatWest Cricketforce for their help on the day along with South Glos council and the fooball foundation who have made the new ground possible along with the commitment of members of the club.
Hatherley and Reddings CC - North Park NatWest CricketForce Day a Great Success
Don't forget the South Park day on the 9th April!
With the weather being very kind to us, the CricketForce day was a tremendous success. Our day went very well with around 30 volunteers who worked tirelessly in getting not only the list of jobs we drew up completed but even more done! The Gloucester players helped move furniture and generally encouraged and talked to our volunteers. The skip we had delivered was full by lunchtime to help tidy up the ground and our car park now looks spotless. The new white painted wicket fence alongside the car park boundary looks great and the sightscreens were moved and washed along with some hedge trimming and cutting.
Thank you VERY much to the volunteers (around 30 of you) who got stuck into the list of tasks so well that we managed to finish them all and get a few more done. The vegetation which had encroached onto the car park was cut back so much that it is now the size of a small european country.
Gloucestershire players, Richard Coughtrie, Vikram Banerjee, and Hatherley's own Alex Gidman came along to assist, Alex even brought his little daughter who was the star of the show and seems very much at home on cricket grounds.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out, and to the Gloucestershire players for giving their time and energy so freely.
Cricket Force at Apperley Cricket Club
The cricket force initiative was a well attended success as around 40 people volunteered their time to fulfil a range of pre-season tasks. They were supported by the attendance of 3
Gloucestershire county cricketers, Ian Cockbain, Ian Saxelby and David Wade the soldier who turned down a tour in Afghanistan to play county cricket.
All the volunteers, including 7 members of NatWest who had chosen Apperley as their club to support, worked well into the afternoon on work including putting up a new bowling machine stand, pulling up an old fence and replacing it with a new one, putting up nets and sightscreens. The promised arrival of a Sky Sports News which unfortunately did not happen did not dampen the spirits of the workers and the many children playing Kwik Cricket on the outfield.
During the day, Apperley C.C. was proud to do a presentation to Dr Gill Rouse of LINC, a local cancer charity, for whom the club raised £1415.
Brian Leeke, Club Chairman, was delighted as “this was our biggest turn out for Cricket Force and we got jobs done that have been waiting to be done for years. The NatWest employees were a great boon and the presence of the Gloucestershire county cricketers was much appreciated”
