Coach Education
If you would like to become a coach then the Gloucestershire Cricket Board have the opportunities for you. The GCB offer and deliver Level 1 and Level 2 courses and through the Coach Development Workshops, the Club Coach Award. Level 3 is controlled by the ECB, with candidates being recommended by the GCB.
Whatever level you are at you are very much part of the ECB Coach Education well-defined pathway (diagram below) for prospective and existing coaches.
How to become a coach
If you are from a club then you need to get in contact with your Youth Coordinator or Chairman. Over 100 clubs across Gloucestershire now have Junior sections and are looking for more and more coaches to support the clubs with their ever-increasing number of children. At these clubs you will tend to find a junior coordinator who overlooks all youth matters including the coaches and their Continuous Professional Development. Many clubs subsidise the course costs or even fully pay for each of their prospective coaches as they know this is the way to further develop their club and improve it in the long run.
If this route is not for you then This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as we also offer course places for individuals who may be from:

- Teachers
- Anyone who wants to take a course
By the end of July each year we will have a full Coach Education Programme planned for the September to May timeframe. This programme will consist of all the necessary courses and their Bolt on workshops.
ECB Coaching Pathway
In progressing upwards through this career and volunteer path, a coach can develop from coaching juniors at his or her club through to coaching District or County Age Group squads.

The player pathway can be found on the ECB official website and it can be downloaded in full colour as a PDF file. It is intended as a guide for coaches, managers, administrators, parents, teachers and others who play a part in the development of young cricketers.
