Wicketkeeping Masterclass - Coaches Enthused and Looking for More!
The recent wicketkeeping masterclass held at Cheltenham and Bedminster and delivered by Steve Snell certainly hit home with the coaches in attendance. "Gave me lots of ideas and I already have a session booked with my school 'keeper", "Looking forward to using the drills with my 'keepers" were just two of the numerous comments sent to the GCBCA.

Volunteer wicketkeepers at the two sessions showed their undoubted skills standing back and standing up were Mario Jardim, Ewen Fenley, Tim Dannatt, Ben Slade, James Bracey and Laura Marshall.

All the basics of standing up & standing back, movement, positioning and posture were thoroughly covered and supported by recollections from Steve's own experience both in wicketkeeping and in passing on his coaching approach and ideas. Numerous drills were demonstrated and explained, using a variety of equipment and methods to help coaches in their quest to support their wicketkeepers.

Twyford House, Bristol Pakistanis and Chalford cricket clubs have been the first to benefit, with ongoing programmes in place to assist their junior coaching and encourage volunteers to join in.
Further reports will appear on this page in due course to keep you up to date with latest news. In the meantime, all our coordinators' contact details are above - why not get in touch?
