Scorers
Much like the Umpires development Gloucestershire Association of Cricket Officials (GACO) is very keen to raise the standards of scorers and the number of scorers across the County.
Each year GACO will be offering scorers courses to further increase the number of active qualified scorers at ECB ACO Level 1 and beyond.
Technology is also moving on in the scoring world and with many clubs these days having access to power, either in the Scorebox or through the pavilion, more and more scorers are these days scoring electronically.
There are some very useful electronic packages on the market at the moment, including official GCB partner Natwest CricHQ.
The app can be downloaded for free onto the iPads, iPhones or Androids from www.CricHQ.com and it allows scorers to record detailed information on every ball, with graphics on everything from where it pitched, to where it was hit and how many runs were scored
These details can then be posted online as they are recorded, allowing people to follow ball-by-ball coverage of matches as they happen.
