What the GCB can offer
What can the GCB do for you?
The GCB believes that the best way to an outstanding outcome is to work with very closely with other sporting partners; this way all involved have a real buy in and the work being carried out is strategic and not just delivered to those who always ask the loudest.
All SSPs were provided with the attached document which very clearly identifies what the Board can do for Schools - Working in Partnerships with the SSPs (link to attached document). This document focuses on 3 very clear areas:
- High Quality Coaching
- High Quality Competition
- High Quality Teacher and student CPD
The diagram below shows the boards new structure and highlights the 3 development groups that began work on priority areas at the end of 2009. The GCB are quite aware that to ensure change and improvement are made the 3 operational groups must be made up of the right people; those people who will be action centred.

In terms of Cricket Development at Schools and their links with the wider community this diagram shows that there will be a Development Group purely set up for the improvement within this area. The group will consist of people from the following working bodies:
- GCB (CDM and Community Coaches)
- Competition Managers (Active Glos and WESPORT)
- County Sport Partnerships (Active Glos and WESPORT)
- Schools Sport Partnerships (Partnership Development Managers [PDMs] -Representatives from the North and South)
- Local Authorities (LAs)
- ESCA reps from Bristol Schools and Gloucestershire Schools Cricket Associations.
In 2009 the Schools and Community Groups took on the following priorities:
- High Quality Kwik Cricket festivals
- Young Leaders Award Courses
- Recruitment of a Development Officer for the Forest of Dean and Gloucester School Sports Partnerships
