Officials
Without Officials, both Umpires and Scorers, we would not have the great game that we do as without their leadership the game would have no structure.
In Gloucestershire we see this area of work as imperative in developing the counties cricketers and clubs and we are very fortunate to have a County Association (GACO) and its ‘regional arms’ (GACUS and B&WACU&S) to drive this work.
The development of Officials is not just about providing courses but instead how to retain and develop those already qualified. Each of the Associations listed works very hard to ensure this happens in a time when people giving up voluntary time are becoming less and less.
