GCB to hold workshops to help clubs develop Under 9s cricket

e Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) is to hold two free workshops to help clubs develop cricket for Under 9s.
Events will be held at Hambrook CC and Hatherley and Reddings CC in January to support clubs as they prepare for an influx of players at this age group from the All Stars Cricket programme.

Wilson & Luff hand out awards at women and girls presentation evening

England batsman Fran Wilson and her Western Storm team mate Sophie Luff handed out the awards at Gloucestershire’s annual Women and Girls Presentation Evening.
The event at the Brightside Ground celebrated the outstanding teams and individuals from the Under 11 Lady Taverner’s to the Gloucestershire Women’s League and Cain & Fuller Cotswold Women’s League.

Tewkesbury’s Oliver wins Glos Sports Award

Tewkesbury CC allrounder Alex Oliver has been named Young Sports Player of the Year at the 2018 Gloucestershire Sports Awards.
The Gloucestershire Under 14 player – who attends Tewkesbury School – enjoyed a stellar season, scoring more than 1000 runs and 100 wickets across junior and senior teams.

2019 Women’s Indoor Softball Leagues – enter now

The Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) is hoping to build on the success of its Women’s Softball Festivals with the launch of its 2019 indoor leagues.
The three competitions will be held at Hartpury College, The Cotswold School and Winterbourne Academy in the New Year after a tremendous summer where more than 500 women from 35 different teams took part.

A month after Dumbleton were crowned Jelf Gloucestershire Under 16 T20 champions, plans are already afoot to revamp the competition for next season.

Dumbleton beat Cheltenham by 56 runs in the 2018 final but with the earlier stages blighted by cancellations, clubs have received a set of proposals to improve the tournament in 2019.
