Glos pair selected for England Women’s Academy programme

Gloucestershire pair Danielle Gibson and Natasha Wraith will join up with the England Women’s Academy this winter.
Dumbleton CC allrounder Danielle has been named in the full Academy squad while Frenchay CC wicketkeeper Nat is part of a 12-strong training group.

U14s nominated for Bristol Sports Award

Gloucestershire Under 14 Boys have been nominated for a Bristol Sports Award after enjoying an outstanding season. The U14s became the first Glos side to finish top of their ECB regional group and also won the Taunton Festival.

Under 13s make it back-to-back Taunton triumphs

After three days of tough cricket Glos won the four-team festival by just a single point – emulating this year’s Under 14s by winning back-to-back titles.

Three Gloucestershire players have been selected for the ECB’s Under 17 Super 4s competition at Loughborough while two others – Will Naish and Hamdi Saleem impressed at the recent Under 15 Bunbury Festival.


The Gloucestershire Cricket Board runs 29 representative county and district teams each year as well as Emerging Players Programmes (1 boys, 1 girls) (EPP) for the most talented players aged 13-16.

The county programme is made up of boys sides from under 10 to under 17s and girls teams at under 11, under 13, under 15, under 17 and senior women. The boy’s district set-up includes teams at under 11, under 12, under 13 across each of the county’s four districts; Bristol, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean and Stroud and South Gloucestershire.

From 2017 their will be a single development team at Under 14 and Under 15 made up of the best players who aren’t selected for the county squads. There are also girls development squads at under 13 and under 15. All of this is overseen by GCB head of performance and former Gloucestershire professional Tim Hancock and women and girls officer Lisa Pagett.
