Each year the GCB invites clubs and schools to nominate players for district and county trials.
Trials then take place during August and September before the final winter training squads are announced in October.
Please note that the window for submissions is currently closed.
How to nominate
To collect nominations the GCB uses ‘Clubpay’ again to collect nominations for this year’s trials. The way to nominate will be by using the following steps.
- 1. Log on to clubpay.co.uk
- 2. Read the full page and understand what is required before starting
- 3. Please remember you are nominating for the 2018 age group
Please ensure that all email addresses are current and spelt correctly for the players you wish to nominate as they will receive a personal invite from the email address given. Player nominations will need to be entered one at a time, please also ensure that date of births are correct so that we are directing the young cricketers to the relevant trial.
Once you have added all the information for each individual player please click ‘add to cart’ at the bottom of the page – there is no fee at this stage.
On receipt of your trial nominations each of the players will then be invited to attend a trial during the 4 week period starting on Monday 31st July. Each age group has an allocated day in each one of the four trial weeks of August. If players cannot attend any of these four dates then the player will unfortunately not be seen.
Acceptance of a trial place will also be completed through Clubpay where the parents confirm their child’s attendance and pay the £6 trial fee online. The link will be sent once the nomination period is over.
Please ensure that those being nominated are at County or District age group standard. To improve the trials we are looking to streamline the nomination process. We would like examples of performances that justifies a player’s nomination for a trial. In the past we have had a huge number of nominations which is fantastic. However, we have found that the standard of some of those nominated has been well below normal district level. Our intention is to see the best club players in the County and provide them the best opportunity to showcase their skills.
All players will receive notification via email of the trial they have been invited to attend – if there is a problem with this date then they can select one of the other 3 dates in their age group.
Please enter all nominations for trials by Sunday 16th July or players will miss the opportunity to trial.
Please note that current County and District players do not need to be nominated. They will get an email inviting them to their relevant trial. All the current County players will get invited to the Final trials
