Year Three and Four

Gloucestershire is the first county to run a Kwik Cricket festival for children in year three and four.

By running festivals for children for these year groups the GCB’s aim is to get children engaged in cricket at a younger age, for them to learn the rules and to give them access to competitive school sport.

The inaugural competition was held in 2013 and proved a great success with 64 teams competing. It has continued to grow in popularity with more teams entering each year.

In 2016, 125 teams competed in nine festivals around the county building up to finals at Wycliffe School.

Elmlea Junior School from Bristol won the 2016 competition after beating Great Rissington by 32 runs in the final.
