We are pleased to be able to share the selections for the 2020 girls winter performance programmes.
For the first time this year, the Under 11 age group has been split into a ‘north’ group and a ‘south’ group – doubling the number of players that will receive coaching and bringing the age group into line with the Under 13 and Under 15 girls which have both a Development Squad and County Squad. Across the pathway, over 120 players will be supported with a 12-week winter programme, followed by summer training sessions and a match programme.
Girls Performance Lead, Lisa Pagett said “We have been inundated with girls being nominated for performance trials this year – in the Under 13 age group alone over 80 girls trialled, so we are seeing the growth of the girls club game very much driving the standard of cricket up within the County. The trials this year were by the far the most competitive I have seen in my 10 years with Gloucestershire and it is exciting to see the talent we have within the county. All the players selected should feel incredibly proud of themselves – but of course, the hard work really begins now!”
Full details of winter training, which starts in the New Year, including venues and times, will be circulated to parents by the end of November.
