[lead]More than 270 groundsmen from across the country attended a special seminar at the Brightside Ground, Bristol organised by the Gloucestershire Grounds Association (GGA) in partnership with Dennis and SISIS machinery.[/lead]
The day included seminars from a wide-range of experts including Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson, ECB pitch consultant Chris Wood and West of England Premier League (WEPL) umpire Bob Hampshire.
The theme of spinning wickets was developed by a number of speakers throughout the day including Somerset groundsman Simon Lee – one of five county head groundsmen present at the event.
Dennis and SISIS were joined at the Brightside Ground by key partners within the groundscare industry including Boughton Loam, CricketWorld.com, Limagrain, Poweroll, Stuart Canvas and local dealer Lister Wilder
Eric Woodmason, the Gloucestershire Cricket Board’s (GCB) representative on the GGA said: “It was incredible to have so many delegates there and with the fantastic line-up of speakers it’s hardly surprising that it was widely regarded as an outstanding day.”
