vCricket Award

The initiative is aimed at helping clubs find more volunteers, with a particular focus on young people aged 16 to 25.

What is vCricket?

vCricket is an initiative aimed at helping our grassroots clubs find more volunteers and can be accessed by any young volunteers who have completed the Cricket Activator Course. The programme is particularly focused on young people aged 16 to 25, as this group are vital in the future success of community clubs. There is such an array of opportunities linked to every club that there are jobs for people with a wide range of skills and experience levels.

The Cricket Activators Course aims to encourage young people to get more involved as cricket volunteers. To become a Cricket Activator, you can either complete an e:Learning module or attend a course in your local area.

vCricket Awards – Are you 16-25 volunteering within cricket? Want some free stash?

The vCricket Awards provide an opportunity for you to receive rewards for volunteering within your local cricket club. Any young volunteers who have completed the Cricket Activator Course will be sent a link so they can download and record their volunteer hours in a new interactive log book for which they can receive rewards on completing:

  • 25 hours gets you a certificate of recognition and a vCricket/ECB polo shirt
  • 50 hours gets you a certificate of recognition from the ECB and a vCricket/ECB hooded top
  • 100 hours gets you a personal letter of recognition from the ECB’s head of vCricket and a limited edition ECB silver pin badge

All you have to do is record your volunteering hours and ask a senior member ideally a volunteer coordinator at your club to sign them off. The interactive log book can be easily downloaded onto your phone or tablet making it easier for you to record your hours as you go along.
