TEAMS across the county are gearing up for a hectic weekend with many sides following up league matches with important games on Sunday.

There are six ties in the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire County Trophy including a home clash for Gloucestershire County League representatives Cam against Bohemians, of the Bristol & District League.

Other games: Bristol West Indian Phoenix 2nds v Chipping Sodbury, Cheltenham 2nds v Frocester 2nds, Hambrook v Newent, Hatherley & Reddings 2nds v Charlton Kings, Ruardean Hill v Almondsbury. All start at 1.30pm.

Rockhampton, who were beaten finalists in 2013, set out on the road to Lord’s when they entertain neighbours Oldbury-on-Severn in the opening Gloucestershire round of The Cricketer Village Cup (1pm).

The winners will be home to Corse & Staunton who had a bye.

Also in Village Cup action on Sunday are Painswick, who host Frocester, and Kingsholm who welcome Marshfield.

In the Somerset & Avon group, meanwhile, Stapleton travel to Hinton Charterhouse.

Several sides are also in action in the ECB’s Royal London Club Championship.

Bristol welcome Barnards Green, of Malvern, Cheltenham travel to Bath and Winterbourne are also on the road, to Potterne (all 1pm).
