Gloucestershire have two county teams that play in the ECB Super 9s National and Development Soft Ball Leagues.
The Meteors Super 9s Development Squad provides young people with either learning or physical disabilities a fantastic opportunity to be involved in cricket and gives them the opportunity to progress to the Javelins.
The Javelins Super 9s National League Squad provide a competitive cricket environment for all ages and genders, the squad is fully inclusive and open to anyone with a physical or learning difficulty.
The training and match programme is part of a five-year rolling strategy committed to helping all ages and genders develop their cricketing skills to a competitive level.
We believe that the programme provides a safe and controlled environment to develop both sport and social skills.
Training sessions are held at Upton St Leonards Cricket Club through the spring summer months Sundays 10:00am to 11:45am (not when county games are on) and Wednesday evenings 18:00pm to 19:00pm. The squads train indoors during winter months at Wootton-Under-Edge Sports Centre on Sunday mornings.
New members are always welcome.
Downton Delivers – Team Sponsors
Our County teams are sponsored by CM Downton. The great opportunities available for people with disabilities would not be available if it wasn’t for the amazing support we receive from them.
The partnership between our Gloucestershire County Disabled Teams and Downton is long standing and features an annual game where employees form a team to play our squad at Frampton-on-Severn Cricket Club.
