[lead]The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB ) is calling on clubs to celebrate the game this summer by getting involved with CricketFest 2017.[/lead]
The scheme – which replaces ‘Waitrose Club Open Days’ initiative – is set to be even bigger and better than its predecessor with the ECB offering support materials and an exclusive hamper of goodies to clubs taking part.
Running over four weekends in June and July, CrickeFest is the perfect opportunity for your club to roll out the welcome mat to members, guests, friends, family, people new to cricket – absolutely everyone – and celebrate all that is great about our game.
Last year, the club open days led to a a surge in community involvement as more local residents (and kids) came along to play, new players and new volunteers signed up, teams came together and whole families joined in the fun.
Now CricketFest 2017 needs your help and experience to make this year’s event even bigger and better.
To sign up all you need to do is follow these four simple steps:
Pick the weekend that works best for you (24/25 June, 1/2 July, 8/9 July or 15/16 July).
Register for the event with the ECB at http://booking.ecb.co.uk/d/n5ql7b/4W
Provide the ECB with details of your club event.
The ECB will send you your own support materials and exclusive hamper.
