Pegler Yorkshire has become the new sponsor of the Gloucestershire Under 19 Club T20 competition.
The firm – a leading manufacturer of heating, plumbing and engineering products – will also become the GCB’s first facilities management partner.
The deal sees the Doncaster-based company join the likes of Utilitrack, Jelf Insurance and St Austell Brewery, who have all committed to offering the best deals to the county’s clubs.
Pegler Yorkshire’s Divisional Sales Manager Kevin Moore said: “At Pegler Yorkshire our aim is to help people connect with our products and stay in control of their projects. Our partnership with the GCB will help us to connect with the local cricket community and support them in keeping control of the costs within their projects whether that is building a new pavilion, replacing their heating system or installing new showers.”
The Pegler Yorkshire Under 19 T20 Cup is in its second year and features twenty-five clubs – five more than in 2015.
The tournament aims to recreate the razzmatazz of the NatWest T20 Blast with music, off-field entertainment and points awarded for the quality of match experience.
The teams – who wear coloured clothing and use a pink ball – have recently completed the group stages and quarter finals, with the winners – Thornbury Thunder, Bristol Buccaneers, Cirencester Centurions and Frocester Foxes – going through to finals day at the Brightside Ground, Bristol on August 21.
Kevin said: “As a club cricketer in Bristol for many years I have seen first-hand the challenge of keeping young people in the game. The Under 19 T20 is an exciting, vibrant competition which is fantastic for ensuring young people to continue to enjoy playing cricket and remain involved with their clubs.
“As a company Pegler Yorkshire aim to be greater than the sum of our parts and this fits in well with the mind-set needed in successful cricket teams.”
Pegler Yorkshire has also become the personal sponsor of Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson, who, like the company originates from Doncaster.
GCB chief executive Steve Silk said: “Pegler Yorkshire is one of the leading manufacturers of advanced plumbing, heating and engineering products in the world with over 100 years in the industry. This makes them a fantastic official firm to become our first facilities management partner.
“With an area sales manager based in Bristol they will offer our clubs a personal, face-to-face service. Their in-depth knowledge and competitive pricing will help clubs choose the right products and save money for both refurbishments and new builds.”
