Nominate the unsung heroes of Glos cricket for a 2018 NatWest OSCA

Give recognition to the unsung heroes of grass roots cricket by nominating them for a NatWest OSCA (Outstanding Services to Cricket Award).

The 2018 nominations are now open and people are being asked to nominate deserving individuals from both traditional cricketing environments (Clubs, Leagues, and Boards) and emerging environments including Higher and Further Education, Community Programmes, Workplaces and Recreational Park Leagues.

The closing date for nominations is July 29 2018.

The winners are recognised at a ceremony at Lord’s cricket ground and will also receive free tickets to a Gloucestershire Cricket match.

Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) Chief Executive Steve Silk urged people to use the awards of saying thank you to those who work tirelessly for the good of local cricket.

He said: “The NatWest OSCAs are a great way to give recognition and say thank you to the people whose hard work and dedication often goes unseen. We want to celebrate those people that go the extra mile for the benefit of the recreational game whether they are a committee member, coach, administrator, official or groundsman. It only takes a couple of minutes to nominate someone which is a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of time they dedicate to the game every year. We  look forward to receiving your nominations and celebrating the unsung heroes of Gloucestershire cricket.”

There are six categories in the 2018 NatWest OSCAs:

  1. Heartbeat of the Club
  2. Leagues
  3. Lifetime Achiever
  4. NatWest CricketForce
  5. Officiating – Umpires and Scorers
