The GCB are looking to recruit up to new six Non-Executive Directors who will drive the development of the recreational game and play a significant part in achieving the Inspiring Gloucestershire strategic outcomes.
In 2010 the Gloucestershire Cricket Board became incorporated and since then it has not looked back and has maintained the standard of being an ECB ‘High Achieving Board’. The business has significantly grown, doubling its turnover since 2012 and tripling the numbers of staff. There has been many milestones reached along the way and huge thanks must go to the existing and previous Directors and Non-Executive Directors, who have guided the business and taken us on this journey.
In March 2020 the GCB, in partnership with the GCCC, presented the new cricket strategy for the county, Inspiring Gloucestershire 2020-2024. This came following extensive consultation with people from all areas of the game. One major outcome from this work was the desire and need to develop and launch a leading Charitable Foundation and it is now the ambition for this Foundation to be born in 2021.
Recreational cricket will still be the driver behind the new charity and at the heart of most that it does but in recent years the GCB has dipped it’s toes in to delivering projects, through cricket, for the benefit of more than just regular cricketers. This has seen some wonderful projects delivered for social good and the desire and strong belief is that in becoming a Charity, a lot more can be achieved.
To drive the design and launch of this new Foundation, whilst ensuring that the work across the recreational game remains at the very highest of standards, we are now looking for up to 6 new Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and team. This is an exciting opportunity for cricket lovers and we hope that the advert below will provide you with more details about what we are looking for.
