For some years now, Rockhampton Cricket Club have been working to improve their facilities to a level which means they can host Gloucestershire Second XI cricket. This results from a formalised partnership with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
As a consequence of this partnership Rockhampton and GCCC have invested in developing both the on and off field facilities, including – a new square, non-turf practice facilities, a new electronic scoreboard, main phone line, new machinery as well as site screens and covers.
Whilst there have been a number of suppliers that have supported this project to date, the club has built a close working relationship with Durant Cricket. In the last few weeks, Durant Cricket visited the club as they hosted Gloucestershire & Somerset, who were playing some T20 warm up games. They took the time to chat with Groundsman Jeremy White, who explained what the new arrangement with Gloucestershire means to the club and also how the facilities they’ve invested in have made sure they’re ready and prepared for cricket at all levels.
