Gloucestershire Under 14 Boys have been nominated for a Bristol Sports Award after enjoying an outstanding season.
The U14s became the first Glos side to finish top of their ECB regional group and also won the Taunton Festival.
The team further underlined its dominance by beating Wales in a two-day game, their first ever match in that format. A number of their players including Charlie Brennan (Bristol), Praneel Choughule (Thornbury), Will Gilderson and Ryan Kilmister (both Dumbleton) have also gone on to represent older age groups during the course of the season.
The squad has been shortlisted in the Junior Team of the Year category alongside Avon Athletic U11s and Bristol Inner City U15s. They will find out if they have been successful at the annual Bristol Sports Awards Ashton Gate on October 18.
Under 14 coach Luke Sellers said: “The squad have had an excellent season and it is nice for the boys to receive recognition for their achievements. Regardless of whether they win the award it is fantastic for a Gloucestershire Cricket squad to be nominated and to have caught the attention of people outside the cricket community.”
