JOE Fletcher hammered 132 for leaders Bitton who dodged the showers to complete a 111-run home win over Bishopston 2nds in Pod C of the Martin Berrill Bristol & District League.

The opener cracked 14 fours and eight sixes, sharing a 191-run stand for the first wicket with George Wilshire (52) as Bitton piled up 218-2 off 26.5 overs before the weather intervened.

Bishopston went out to bat when conditions improved, and were dismissed for 107 as Joe Concannon, Jacob Wardle and Wiltshire all captured three wickets in Bitton’s third straight win of the summer.

There were very few results elsewhere with the rain having the last word but in Pod A Coalpit Heath completed a four-wicket home triumph over Winterbourne 2nds.

Jack Williams (3-18) led the charge as the visitors were dismissed for 105 while John Donaldson’s brisk 25 then nailed down the points.

Also in this group on Sunday, Bristol Pakistanis were bowled out for 95 at Frenchay, Ben Helps finishing with 6-22 from his eight, to help set up a seven-wicket success.

Bedminster 2nds were nine-run winners away to their Keynsham counterparts in Pod B, and in Pod G Hambrook bounced back from last week’s disappointing defeat with a fine effort to trump neighbours Frenchay 2nds by six wickets.

Ben Pine’s 32 helped Frenchay total 151 all out before Edin Ahmed (41) and Ben Scrase (38) steered Hambrook to a rain-reduced target with plenty of overs to spare.

Haroon Naseer (72) and opener Amir Yaqoob (57) starred for PR Royal who were 30-run victors away to Bath 4ths in Pod H.

Four wickets apiece from Dean May and Alex Long ensured a 40-run triumph for Coalpit Heath 2nds away to Alveston in Pod P where Bohemians 2nds romped to an eight-wicket win over Thornbury 3rds in another rain-hit clash, Roppesh Surasetty taking 3-8 from eight.
