The Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) wishes to appoint two Cricket Apprentices. The posts will have a focus on developing opportunities for young people in schools to play and enjoy cricket.
The two 15 month placements are for NEET (Not in full time education, employment or training) individuals aged 16-24. The positions are 30 hours-a-week of which one day is in education.
Individuals will complete an NVQ Level 2 Community Activator Coach qualification as well as additional cricketing and multi skill qualifications. They will be deployed across all GCB programmes while also being provided further opportunities through our sponsors and partners. In 2019 the apprentices will be able to get involved with supporting various aspects of the ICC Cricket World Cup (three World Cup games at Bristol in June + three warm up games in) as well as the May International between England v Pakistan.
The opportunity has come about through the The Royal Foundation’s (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) Coach Core programme.
